Why Cosmic Perspective Matters

Why Cosmic Perspective Matters

If everyone paused to honestly look within and consistently chose to do what’s objectively right, we’d likely see fewer conflicts around the globe and perhaps a fairer sharing of wealth, NO War, Climate Crisis. Then, of course, we must put collective effort into being cautios on what is being defined as 'objectively right' accross systems (though we already have it in current system, but maybe for another post...).

Another angle: make astronomy a required subject and teach ethics and moral reasoning early in life and/or keep teaching throughout the school years so it becomes insepperable identity of the coming generation. Giving people both a cosmic perspective and a moral compass could cut down a lot of the “noise” (i.e. that are the roots of the above stated cases) across society.

Another solution could be to make a several-week stay on the ISS (International Space Station) mandatory for anyone who wants to work in government or any serious position of power to cut at the roots of conflict generation, war, and any similar dynamics. Just watch any video from YouTube or search online 'how people who were in space or International Space Station change their life priorities about the world and instantly develop a consmis perspective...'

Only then should we strongly encourage people to dive into fields like finance, business, or power.... you name it! History and current world state has already shown how individuals with great wealth, power (...) but no morals can cause enormous harm

In the end, it all comes down to personal choice [perhaps] and the courage to stick to it, regardless of the surroundings, as many of the greats have demonstrated (including the ones from the book I shared in my earlier post). Another example, I personally loved the ending of the show Silicon Valley: it carries a very deep message about individuals choosing to do the right thing, even when it’s not in their own best (...) interest

And through it all, I still lean on realistic optimism. As Noam Chomsky put it: “Optimism is a strategy for making a better future. Because unless you believe that the future can be better, it’s unlikely you will step up and take responsibility for making it so. If you assume that there’s no hope, you guarantee that there will be no hope. If you assume that there is an instinct for freedom, there are opportunities to change things, there’s a chance you may contribute to making a better world. The choice is yours.”
