Hello World 🌍
“Be less curious about people and more curious about ideas.” - Marie Curie [essential note: unless her biography is read, the full weight of these words can’t be understood or misunderstood]
Today, on Marie Curie’s birthday, this first post is dedicated to her spirit of curiosity and love for knowledge.
Reading was not enjoyed at first, but through years of growing interest in various ideas and fields, it has come to be seen as a true source of joy. However, once a book is started, it becomes difficult to put it down until every idea is fully understood. Pages are not turned until each concept is grasped, and lines or chapters are often reread until they are made clear (a habit learned from an old friend who was found to be truly wise)
In that same spirit of curiosity, a selection of favorite books will be shared below, along with others that have inspired new ways of thinking.
Top list:
1) Behave – Robert Sapolsky (+ any of his other works)
2) Any book by Carl Sagan
3) Breaking Through – Katalin Karikó
4) Incerto – Nassim N. Taleb
5) Feynman’s Lectures on Physics (Vol I-III)
6) Any book by Neil deGrasse Tyson
7) The Physics of Climate Change – Lawrence Klaus
8) Man’s Search for Meaning – Viktor Frankl
9) Any book or lecture by Temple Grandin
